Privacy Policy

The Heights Catigan ("we", "us") rents out a private A-frame house in Catigan, Toril District, Davao City. This policy explains what information we collect when you book on this website or message our Facebook page, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

Information we collect

• When you book: your name, mobile number, email address (optional), notes you add, your dates and number of guests.
• When you pay the down payment: the payment method (GCash or bank transfer), the amount, the reference number from your receipt, and the receipt screenshot if you attach one. We never ask for or store your GCash PIN, bank password or card number.
• When you message our Facebook page: your name as shown on Facebook, the messages you send us and our replies, and when they were sent. Meta (Facebook) shares these with us through its Messenger platform so we can keep track of questions we still need to answer.
• On this website: the site may save a few settings in your browser, on your own device only. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To hold and confirm your dates, check your payment, and prepare the house for your stay.
• To contact you about your booking, for example by text, call or Messenger.
• To answer your questions and make sure no message goes unanswered.
• To keep basic records of bookings and income for our own accounts.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Only the owners of The Heights Catigan, through a password-protected dashboard. Other visitors to the website only see which dates are taken, never who booked them. We use these service providers to run the website, and they store the information on our behalf:

• Vercel, which hosts the website.
• Neon, which hosts the database where bookings and messages are saved.
• Meta Platforms (Facebook and Messenger), for messages you send our page. Meta's own privacy policy also applies to those.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment details for as long as we need them for your stay and for our records. Messages from Facebook are kept so we can follow up on your inquiry. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).

How we protect it

The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection. The owner dashboard requires a password, and only the owners have it. Messages from Facebook are accepted only when they carry Meta's security signature.

Your rights and deleting your data

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we have about you. To do this, send a message to our Facebook page saying what you'd like us to do, together with your booking reference number if you have one. We'll confirm once it's done, normally within 7 days. If a booking is still coming up, deleting it also cancels it.

You can also remove The Heights Catigan's access to your Facebook information at any time through your Facebook settings. If you think we haven't handled your information properly, you may contact the National Privacy Commission.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
